Thirty years inside the commercial conversation

Three decades across sectors, markets, and conversations that mattered.

— The work behind it

Built sector by sector, over decades

I have spent around thirty years working in commercial environments where success depended on more than a good idea. It depended on understanding people, reading the room, building trust, and turning conversations into practical outcomes.

Across that time I have worked in and around software, travel, automotive, franchise management, marketing, retail, and international markets. That has given me a broad view of how different organisations operate, and how often the same fundamental challenge appears in a different form: a strong product or service that still needs to be explained clearly to the right people.

My work has always sat somewhere between strategy, communication, and relationship-building. I am most useful when something needs to be translated, aligned, or carried forward in a way that feels commercially real and culturally aware. That might mean helping a team sharpen its story, opening conversations in a new market, or stepping in as a fractional commercial or partnerships support when a business needs experienced judgement in the room.

I also bring a multilingual and cross-cultural perspective to the work, which matters when teams, markets, and customers do not all think in the same way. In practice, that means listening carefully, asking the right questions, and helping people find common ground without flattening what makes them different.

James Kaiser Advisory is the commercial side of that experience. Cambrian Stories is the more place-led and narrative side. Both are built on the same belief: that people respond best when the story is clear, the context is understood, and the conversation feels real.

Scope

Three ways I add value

Commercial Growth

Cross-functional Delivery

Cross-Cultural Communication

Helping businesses shape a clearer story, open the right conversations, and turn interest into action.

Bringing structure to complex work, aligning people around one direction, and keeping projects moving.

Working across languages, markets, and business cultures to help messages land and relationships build.

Direct, senior involvement from the first conversation

James Kaiser Advisory is structured around direct engagement. You work with me throughout: the same person who understands the situation, shapes the approach, and carries the work forward. That means continuity, accountability, and no gap between the conversation and the delivery.
